Bargaining Update #4. Bargaining update for Dec 3rd

We deserve a fair contract
sign the petition demanding more bargaining time

Today once again showed that while we are making progress on important issues we are pressed for time. Sign our petition to tell the administration to meet our demands for more time at the bargaining table.

In our fourth meeting with the administration, we heard from three members whose experiences of harassment, discrimination, and bullying have caused tremendous strain to their lives as student workers. They spoke powerfully to the challenges addressing these issues under the current system and the need for union representation in the face of extreme power imbalances in our workplaces.

We told the administration they will continue hear from student workers until we win strong protections from harassment, discrimination and bullying. If you want to tell your story, please contact your bargaining committee using this form.

We continued to present proposals including provisions to secure access to a workspace and achieve appointment security. There is a great distance between what we believe will provide much needed security and stability to student workers’ lives and what the administration is proposing in return.

There is only one bargaining session left this semester. January presents an opportunity to make significant progress; however the administration has accepted only three of our 14 proposed dates.

It’s more pressing than ever, tell Harvard: we can’t wait. Sign this petition for more time at the bargaining table so that we can secure a strong contract.
