Bargaining Update #3. Bargaining update for Nov 19th

We deserve a fair contract Sign the petition demanding more bargaining time

After sitting down with the administration for our third bargaining session, it is increasingly clear that bargaining for a fair contract requires more time at the table. In every meeting with the administration, we have asked for more time and they have done little to respond. Sign our petition to tell the administration to meet our demands for more time at the bargaining table.

We are happy to announce that in advance of today’s session, we secured the makeup of our Bargaining Unit by signing a tentative agreement to ensure that no Student Worker will be excluded from our membership.

At today’s session, we presented six new proposals on economic issues, including improved health benefits and tuition remission. We also spent a large chunk of our meeting diving into detail on our proposal for stronger protections against discrimination and harassment, answering the administration’s questions and discussing the issues raised by student workers across campus. While today’s meeting was productive, there is still a great deal of distance between our proposals for a strong contract and the administration’s positions.

With only two bargaining sessions left this semester, we are eager to bargain intensively during winter recess. We have offered 11 more dates in January, as we hope to take advantage of the break to make substantial progress toward our goals. Now, we are waiting for the administration to respond to our offer.

Tell Harvard: we can’t wait. Sign this petition for more time at the bargaining table so that we can secure a strong contract.
