The university administration has begun to respond to our unionization efforts, including circulating statements to faculty. In light of this administrative response, we are asking faculty to sign a neutrality statement. It reads:
|We, the undersigned faculty, call on our colleagues and the Harvard University administration to remain neutral on the issue of graduate worker unionization at Harvard University. We pledge, and call on the administration, not to engage in any efforts to influence or interfere with graduate student worker organizing, including but not limited to public statements, one-on-one meetings, distribution of literature, or any other active campaigning or activities intended to affect the free choice of graduate workers. We believe that graduate workers should decide on the merits of collective bargaining on their own, and call on the administration to respect their right to do so.
